Michele De Lucchi has been one of the most influential personalities in Italian design and international architecture since the 1970s. He designs products for renowned brands and realizes construction projects worldwide – from industrial plants to cultural centers.
Since 2004, he has been creating architectural wooden models by hand in order to capture the essence of form and space. These models serve him as a creative basis for new design approaches – a combination of design, technology and traditional craftsmanship that has always characterized his work.
In 1990, De Lucchi founded Produzione Privata to design experimental objects away from commercial constraints. The collection includes high-quality glass lamps that are produced in small series and combine Italian design expertise with precision craftsmanship. The core of this special table lamp is a cylindrical body made of satin-finished borosilicate glass, enclosed in a bubble of transparent, blown borosilicate glass that shines the light brightly.
The surrealist painter Giorgio de Chirico gave this shape to the heads of his "disturbing muses". Glass artist Michele De Lucchi has taken up this shape and made it glow.
METAFISICA goes well with interiors made of natural materials and Mediterranean furnishing styles.
