SAYA 45 Italian pendant light with ornate glass

SAYA is the new collection of hanging lamps designed by Gio Minelli and Marco Fossati. This project is the result of a travel story that takes us back in time on horseback between the Eastern and Western worlds, where aesthetics and memories of distant cultures merge with the ancient Venetian tradition of cage-blown glass. The shape of the lamp is inspired by a large dewdrop that settles and runs downwards along a series of metal wires that narrow at the end and stop its fall, giving the viewer the feeling that it is floating. The cage takes on a new and decisive aesthetic value and becomes the main protagonist of the project. The shape of the large hand-blown glass body inside is never exaggerated, creating a perfect balance between light and decoration.

The pendant series consists of three different shapes. The glass is blown into a prefabricated cage until it bulges slightly between the wires. The solid glass is blown into the cages. The metal finishes are burnished, gold and chrome-plated.
