The Italian TICK pendant lamp is elaborately handcrafted from Swiss stone pine wood. The lampshade is made using the centuries-old Italian craft tradition of ornament and figure sculpting. Even today, there are still companies and master craftsmen in Italy who produce or restore the original ecclesiastical and stately motifs and have unique expertise in woodworking.
This extraordinary lamp series thus combines modern lighting design with the great Italian culture that has its origins in ecclesiastical art. You could say that the shade has the "popular hemispherical shape", or "it resembles a dome".
The luminaire is available in three versions. In light, oiled wood only, with ornamentation in the carved pattern shown and in the sizes 48 and 60 cm in diameter. As well as in the smaller 48 cm version with a darker waxed surface and more intensive carving pattern.
The shade is painted white on the inside and therefore reflects the light from the bulb downwards. The white and non-toxic paint also serves to preserve the valuable decorated material.
